Social Map

Viewing Shared Trip Information

Once you have added at least one friend to your Arvee account you will now be able to see their active trips from any of your own trip’s map. For example, see below which shows multiple stops planned in one of our friend’s trips (represented by a marker with their initials, JT):

In this example, you might notice a semi-transparent circle surrounding each friend marker. This circle is shown when your friend has set their visibility preferences to Approximate, and represents a 20-mile radius of their approximate location. Zooming in on a given marker will make this radius more obvious:

You may also click on any friend’s map marker to bring up details about that particular stop.

Viewing a friend’s trip stop details

When you click on a friend’s map marker, it will open the details card for that stop. The actions available in this card will depend on the visibility level granted to you by your friend. Here is an example of a details card for an Approximate visibility level:

As you can see, the amount of information that has been made available to this user is minimal. Importantly, at the bottom of the card you will note that the dates the friend intends to be at this location are provided.

If the friend has elected to provide you with Precise visibility into their trips, the trip details card offers more options. Specifically you will be able to copy the exact GPS coordinates of the stop, and if available view the exact destination of the friend’s stop as you would any other location:
